FIRST
(Flagstaff's Informed Response Sharing Team)

FIRST's mission is to help all people achieve healthy relationships through support, family values, engaging youth, leading, and mentoring. FIRST is run by a volunteer board and is a registered charity. The program offers eduction, projects and counselling specific to relationship trauma. Below are the services and programs in the Flagstaff Community.

FIRST's Local Mental Wellness Program

First Mental wellness program includes a Registered Therapist in Killam and funding for a Psychologist which FIRST can refer you to for mental wellness appointments. Currently that Psychologist practices out of Camrose each Saturday. You must access this program by calling FIRST at 780-385-3976. In partnership with Inter Pipeline Ltd.

Rural Mental Health Project

Mentally healthy people in mentally healthy communities.

School Programming

Karl Subban, Robb Nash, Kim Phuc, David Chilton, Homeless to Harvard and Mildred Muhammed are examples of school programming we've supported in the past!

Family Violence Prevention

Various government programs including the Red Silhouette Campaign.

Community Fundraising to Support Public Awareness

Counselling: Domestic Violence, Bullying, Healthy Relationships

Care-A-Van

Do you need transportation to medical appointments? The Care-A-Van project provides families a vehicle and a driver to travel to medical appointments in urban centers. FFCS schedules the van.

This project is a partnership between FIRST and FFCS. By providing this program, we hope to alleviate the challenges of travelling to medical appointments in large urban centers.
